Business Manager Cardiovascular - Mainland Hospital - Galloway

Location: Pomona, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
The Business Manager of Cardiovascular Services supports the service line in the financial management for all cardiovascular service departments. The manager assists in the analysis of the departments and participates in the development of strategies to maximize patient revenue, minimize costs and improve efficiencies. In collaboration with cardiovascular services directors, the manager introduces, implements and monitors process improvements and identifies best practice financial opportunities. Must have the expertise to understand clinical product needs/processes of the department and their related expenses while correlating the revenue associated in order to present to cardiovascular services leadership to make sound business decisions.
 
 
The Business Manager develops, in conjunction with the directors of Cardiovascular Services, reporting standards and assists in the distribution and analysis of monthly financial reports. The position has responsibility in the ongoing review and analysis of volume trends, assessment of accurate charging mechanisms and projected revenue. This position assists in the management and oversight of all data shared with the cardiologists and surgeons to strengthen the partnership working toward improved utilization, reduced expense and physician satisfaction.
 
 
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field required. Master's degree required; MBA and/or MHA preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of experience within healthcare operations with direct involvement with business operations. Strong financial and analytic skills. Experience within surgical services and/or cardiovascular services preferred. Proficiency in clinical and financial applications preferred at time of hire. Incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the assessment and evaluation tool for this position. Advanced written and verbal communication necessary. Ability to organize and communicate information effectively with staff, peers, surgeons and senior leadership. Possess skills to multitask and prioritize work appropriately. Displays ability to effectively use Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must be organized and possess advanced time management skills to succeed in a fast paced and ever changing work environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires long periods of reading, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. This position requires eye and hearing strain at times. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
