Registered Nurse - Manager of Clinical Informatics - Full Time

Location: Egg Harbor Twp, NJ  |  Position Status: Full Time  |  Position Shift: Days
The Manager of Informatics will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing clinical information systems and workflows. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring the effective implementation and use of informatics solutions. The Manager of Informatics will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance system performance, improve clinical outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

This position requires on-call responsibilities and on-site responsibilities (ex: on-site presence during go-lives, rounding activities, select meetings/trainings and as determined by request/need).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN required.  
  • LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New Jersey or current multi-state license required. Nursing informatics certification preferred. Valid driver's license.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of informatics experience, plus a minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience required. Management experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Computer application experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Operational Management and Support
  • Assists in developing and managing clinical project schedules to align with enterprise strategic initiatives.
  • Supports leadership in driving the adoption and execution of clinical strategy through collaboration with internal management and software vendors.
  • Contributes to setting goals for clinical quality, safety and operational integrity of information systems.
  • Helps standardize clinical content and ensures alignment with organizational strategy and best practices.
  • Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies in collaboration with the director to maintain alignment with advancements in the field.
  • Supports innovation by identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
  • Aids in the planning and execution of major projects, ensuring they are implemented successfully and evaluated effectively.

Clinical Systems and Workflow Management
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to analyze and redesign clinical workflows for improved system performance.
  • Assists in evaluating and designing clinical systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Works with senior clinical, administrative and IT leaders to translate clinician requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Supports the management of systems related to quality outcome measures, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of clinical information systems to support ongoing strategic goals.
  • Helps develop and implement standards and guidelines for health informatics practices.

Data Management and Analytics
  • Assists in analyzing healthcare information and communication technology to improve care delivery and inform policy changes.
  • Monitors and evaluates application functionality and usage, working with clinicians and staff to optimize performance.
  • Provides support in clinical information systems and data management to aid in strategic decision-making.

Communication and Collaboration
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with employees, vendors and stakeholders to support project outcomes.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration across departments to achieve unified goals and improve system effectiveness.
  • Supports end-user informatics programs, ensuring they meet organizational needs and foster technology adoption.
  • Assists in developing strategies to support IT learning needs and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management
  • Supports compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Helps integrate professional standards and regulatory guidelines into EMR documentation and practices.
  • Contributes to activities related to regulatory compliance, quality assurance and survey readiness.

Problem Solving and Decision-Making
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills to address complex issues and develop actionable plans.
  • Uses analytical skills to define problems, gather data and make informed decisions.

General Duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Embodies and promote AtlantiCare values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment on an occasional basis, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances and potential injury. This position requires balancing, fingering, reaching, reading, driving and speaking a majority of the time. This position works with such equipment as computers, fax machine, copier and telephone. Occasional carrying up to 20 lbs. also required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Director of Health Informatics Training & Education.
